About
Thank you for visiting!
My name is Dogan Toparlak, the owner & operator of Aslan. My journey in remodeling industry started in 2002, when I was fortunate enough to be hired by people who have been in the industry for more than 30 years. They taught me many great things, and encouraged me to work my way up from an apprentice until becoming an all-around construction person. In 2010, I started Aslan, and have been operating it since. I attended Montgomery College studying construction management from 2008 – 2010. I do framing, hanging drywall, tiling, finish carpentry and other tasks myself. Whenever I need extra hands, I turn to people whom I trust and have known for many years. On my projects, I work with licensed electricians, plumbers who are like myself small business owners. One of my absolute favorite quotes is “Integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is watching.” by C. S. Lewis.
Before Remodeling:
I attended Almaty State University and Saint Petersburg State University, majoring in social sciences. After university, I backpacked the Silk Road in Central Asia, then joined the workforce at an international distribution and logistic’s company at my hometown of Istanbul, Türkiye before coming to USA.
Off the clock:
My family and I, we love the outdoors, and spend every chance we get hiking, camping, and traveling.
